II ☄ Action

In the morning there is something very odd happening at the just about any place that has food...the impossible is happening. Someone is stealing free food. Yep. The kid hasn't really read everything about this place, and very hungry. He has been doing this for a while now, but today he isn't being as sneaky as usual.

It's possibly very strange to see a kid in extremely nice clothes acting like a street kid, but there he is. He would prefer it if no one caught him, but he's gotten pretty comfortable with stealing food again.

Later in the day though, there is a very interesting thing happening around town. A certain Demon Lord has started up his magic lessons again, on his own. Which isn't the best of ideas, seeing as a simple teleportation spell has him popping up all over town. Maybe right infront of you as your walking, maybe right behind you, or maybe even in the fountain. EIther way it's going to be a surprise to see him since he is still getting used to that magic cap...even the simplist teleportation spell can end him upside down in a puddle of mud.

[Just raising his eyebrows.]

There's no need to steal stuff --or stuff your face in all at once-- in this place. Everything's free, so you can take your time eating. No one's gonna chase you out.

[There's a very blank look on his face for a few moments as he swallows, then confusion.]

...Free? B-but it's food. [Food is good, therefore it must be worth something.]

Food, clothes and stuff. There's no money is this place so they're all free for the taking. 'Least, those found in the shops. [Head-tilts.] Did you just got here?

Really? So no one has to pay for anything? [Best. news. ever!] Yeah...about a week ago.

Oh, so that's why you didn't know. Got here three months ago myself.

[Grins.] Yep. But you gotta remember your manners. People here appreciate that, and they'll remember if you're an asshole to 'em.

Three months is a really long time..

[And now the poor guy looks worried again.] I'm nice to everyone I meet. [No really. He cries and hugs people when he thinks he made them mad.]

...It is, huh. [Sabo looks away, a little distant now. It's been three months since his 'death'...

He's quickly distracted by that worried look though, and he ends up laughing.] Good for you! You'll have an easier time adjusting here than me.

And this place doesn't seem very fun...that must make it seem longer. [He now feels bad for anyone that's been here longer than a week.

And now he's pouting. He has someone younger than him laughing at him!] What do you mean?

It's easier when you got some friends around. Me I have my brothers here. [Pause, and there's sadness clouding his face for a moment.] Or one them, anyway.

[Seeing that pout only makes him grin more.] Hey, I don't mean anything bad. Just saying how tough it was for me dealing with decent folk again after living with low-lifes all my life! [Well, half of his life more accurately.]

That's lucky. [Rae here doesn't even have a family.] I really don't know anyone here.

[That grin only makes him pout more. But hold that thought. It's finally hitting him..it's been in slow motion.] Does that mean you were a street kid too? [Yes, he still considers himself a street kid. He may be a powerful Demon Lord, that lives in a castle with dragon crusaders for bodyguards, but that's only been so for less than a year now.]

[Frowning a bit. Even with his brothers and their nakama around, it still gets pretty difficult sometimes for Sabo. He can't imagine being alone and not knowing anyone...

But then, he smiles and holds out a hand.] Well, you know one now. My name's Sabo! Good to meet you.

And yeah, I'm from a trash heap called Gray Terminal back in my world. Me and my brothers live off eat-and-runs all the time too.

[Well, he was alone for most of his life, so besides the wings, and scary awakening, it hasn't been so hard for him.

Alright, he's smiling a bit now. But he has no idea what to do with that hand...he's used to bowing.] Nice to meet you too. I'm Raenef.

I was in a Guild for a while. It ran more than half a town, but there was a lot of people, so we had to steal a lot...I was just getting used to living in a castle before coming here though. [Oh how he misses Eclipse's cooking..]

Castle, huh. So you a royal or something? [He has a very bad opinion of royalty and nobles on his own kingdom, but he tries not to judge people based on that alone. People are different after all.]

...Well, I guess I am now. But if I didn't have my teleporting, I'd never even be able to find my room. [Rae hasent even learned how to talk fancy yet, let alone act like a rich person.]

You... guess? What, did you only just find out about that? [Well, that might explain why he's been living as a street kid, at least. And it's probably lucky Rae hasn't learned acting that, Sabo likes him better this way.

And hold it. Did you just say--] T-teleport? You can teleport?!

Yep! Just a few months ago. And it was kinda by accident too. [Rae likes himself the way he is too...and he's hard to change.]

Yeah... I can do other kinds of spells too. [It's all very normal to him.]

S-spells... So that means... you can do magic, right...? [Trembling, and you can probably see the stars lighting up in his eyes at this point.] Are-- ARE YOU A WIZARD?!!

[Yep. Guess who's a fan of fantasy character-types?]

...Wizard? [Nope. That's not even a term used in his world.] No, I'm a Demon Lord!

[Which is said in an almost sparkly way...]

EH?! [This guy's a demon? Where're his horns and tails and evil red eyes?] O-oi, are you serious?!

...Of course I am. [Why does everyone think those things?! He can do the 'evil face', but c'mon. That's all he has...except his magic.]

Well, you don't exactly look like one! [P-pfff sorry, man. It's the standard description of evil lords in fiction.]

...Yes I do. I don't look as tall and scary as the older ones, but I'm only fifteen, and I just started. [Really, a lot of Demon Lords look...pretty.]

[... what part of you is scary? But Sabo feels bad for even thinking that, let alone to say it out loud, since the guy looks so sincere about it.]

...If you say so. A-anyway, Demon Lord, huh. You don't look like the type who'd do evil stuff like demons do in the stories. [That's a compliment. Although now, Sabo's warier than he is before. You really just can't trust people too easily.]

[Thank you for not asking that...Rae would have to show off some magic if asked that...and a few of his spells are actually pretty scary..to him at least.]

[And at that, he sighs..] I know. I'm not very good at a lot of demon things...If I try to be scary, people just laugh at me. [They even go 'aww' and hug him. There really isn't any reason to be wary around him. He even faints at the sight of blood.]

Then you don't have to try too hard, if that's not how you really are. Just being yourself is fine.

[He can totally feel you on this. He was never any good as a noble child, so he stopped trying and is happier for it. So unless you start hurting innocent folks, Sabo can accept you for who you are, new friend.]
